PVP -> Nothing New in Nightfalls
Nothing major in Nightfalls for PvPers apart from skills, couple of new maps *yawn* and heroes vs heroes -.- kinda npc vs npc, not pvp.
I hope they have something major up the sleeves for pvp too...

Yeah seems like that. Unfortunately they cant really afford to split the players among several different playmodes. It would be nice if they change some of the HA maps to shake it a bit though. HA is way too stagnant, me thinks.

hmmm divide the customers... that doesnt really make a lot of sense to me... lets see... noob island, random arena, hoh, topk/sorrows/elite mish, tyria vs cantha, alliance battles, gvg... Id say they have enough options for everyone. Plus, I wouldnt go saying that they cant "afford" to ANet is obviously very successful at this time. It only takes two people to have a 1v1 battle... I dont think itll affect whatever it is that you do.
beyond that, everyone complained so much about factions that they designed Nightfall to be focused on PvE, down to the way they are advertising it. the fact that they are giving us a 1v1 Hero Arena only makes sense, considering the Heros are the biggest new feature the game has.
So tell me again what your big issue with this is, I dont see any reason why this is going to have a negative impact on the game.
I dont even have to talk about the new core skills... and remember, there are definately new skills for your Factions characters too. That by itself means that PvP will change- with or without you....?
Do you guys even pvp? If you answered no, consider this: you dont have to rely on teammates to do it now. You tuff enuff?

I think this Hero Battle thing might actually get me a bit interested in PvP.

More like Elite henchmen bashing, 1v1 is more like hall scrimming warriors trying to see whos gimped build with ripostes are better

All I'm saying is there should be some more serious mode of gameplay okay, What you have told me about "new skills and maps" has already been mentioned in my first post, read carefully next time. If you have nothing meaningfull to contribute, be it criticism, then dont start flaming because I am not. Ninjakai, with your post, seems like you are trolling.
So now we have more like customisable henchmen vs henchmen and a single human, more like a TA Henchway, GG.
I've been doing alot of PvP for most of the year I've been playing GW.
Whoever was questioning that...Yes the new skills will cause metagame to change, but its the same mode of play, same old HA maps, just a couple more GvG halls.
I expected more from just a TA henchway and ~4 New maps seriously...As for new skills, they're part of the package with new professions...dont even count the maps...unless they even have some new sort of objective apart from deathmatch, relic cap, flag cap, altar cap.
Knightsaber sith, 2 new arenas...like DUH...Factions didnt have great PvE I agree and Nightfall seems to have better PvE, Thats Cool with me and everyone, its not like I'm stealing a lollypop from PvErs, I myself love to PvE, until it gets same-old.... but that should not be the reason for not offering anything dramatic to PvP part of the game, Factions PvE kinda lacked its taste, that was a mistake but that should not be an excuse to not deliver some great new PvP material for Nightfall. So are we gonna have a cycle? PvP-PvE-PvP-PvE ...Anet should balance the releases too
Sektor, they can bring new modes of play just into GvG and HA, not everything should have same kind of goals like killing GL and capping towers or capping Altars, running relics, there are always little new things that can be added...dont tell me the two new leeroy jenkins they added to GH...they seem like a good addition when you're fighting them lol.
A 6 v 6 should be a great new mode of play..Maybee two new Arenas for that?

You do realise you can control the heroes down to every single detail, right? As in, where they stand, who they attack individually, and what skills they use when?
So it is like playing 4 characters on the same client. So don't just go around calling it "TA Henchway". It is a true test of your "micro". In TA henchway, you only have to control your own build, and where the henchies attack. In heroway, you can either choose to use the heroes as henchies, or to control 4 characters down to the every little detail. A true test of skills.

Are you insane? Nothing new to PVP? Don't you realize that all the new skills are going to implode the metagame?

Factions is why all my friends went on hiatus from Guild Wars. We had more fun going to the movies. I am relived that Nightfall is PvE oriented because it might change our major inactivity problem. I enjoyed the theme of a war in Factions but it was one really short campaign.

If they added alot of PVP in Nightfall, AB and all the Faction PVP missions would suffer even more from the "no opposing party" syndrome. Because it would split PVPers in half, half that bought NF playing those PVP maps and the half that didnt still in Cantha.
(sorry if that doesnt make sense, I'm sleepy)

Omg, Hero Vs Hero is the coolest PvP idea I've ever heard of.
Remember, you can CONTROL the heroes you have in your team DIRECTLY. Do you know how much freakin PERSONAL SKILL this is going to take to be uber?
It's such a great idea that I hope it gets own ladder!
